LAKE PLACID, NEW YORK

Thank you, we’ll be in touch shortly. In the meantime, hear what one of our students has to say.

Founded in 1938, for students in grades 4–9, North Country School is nestled in the Adirondack Mountains of Lake Placid, New York.

Welcome to North Country School. I’m Bill Newman, Director of Admissions. Rachel Carter, Associate Director of Admissions, and I are here to answer your questions, connect you with current or past parents, or guide you on a virtual or on-campus tour.

As the world we once knew continues to change, many of us are realizing that our priorities have shifted. Now more than ever, parents want their children to grow up free of fear — secure in who they are, what they can achieve, and why they matter.

Here, learning in the great outdoors, with nature as their master teacher, removed from the chaos and distractions of urban life, our students are nurtured and challenged in a safe, supportive community.

Our educational model equips them with the basic building blocks needed to become their best selves. They come to understand that the community, of which they are a critical member, is bigger than any one individual. They learn the value of giving back, while at the same time developing the resilience that will serve them well on the road ahead. Raising resilient kids is becoming an increasingly important concern of many parents in this challenging time, but at NCS, it has been a vital part of our consciousness from the day we opened the school in 1938.

Please feel free to contact us at (518) 523-9329, extension 6000, or by email at ddamico@northcountryschool.org (David), or rcarter@northcountryschool.org (Rachel).

We look forward to getting to know you and your child.

Sincerely,

Bill Newman
Director of Admissions

Rachel Carter
